Authors Guild Holiday Reading and Reception

Join the Chicago Regional Chapter Ambassadors of the Authors Guild for a festive holiday reading and networking reception at the American Writers Museum. Acclaimed authors Gina Frangello, Michelle Falkoff, and Augustus Rose will read from their work, and co-ambassadors Arnie Bernstein and Alta Price will present the chapter’s activities. Books will be available for purchase and signing, so stop by to hear scintillating stories, raise a glass to Chicago’s literary scene, and wrap up some books to give as gifts this season!

GINA FRANGELLO is the author of four books of fiction, most recently A Life In Men, which is now under development as a series on Netflix, and Every Kind of Wanting, included by both Chicago Magazine and The Chicago Review of Books as one of the “Best Books of 2016.” She has also served as the Fiction Editor of the popular online literary community The Nervous Breakdown, the faculty editor for TriQuarterly Online, and the Sunday Editor of The Rumpus, and is currently the faculty advisor for The Coachella Review. Her debut memoir, Blow Your House Down, will be published in 2021 on Counterpoint.

MICHELLE FALKOFF is the author of Playlist for the Dead, Pushing Perfect, and Questions I Want to Ask You. Her fiction and reviews have been published in ZYZZYVA, DoubleTake, and the Harvard Review, among other places. She is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and currently serves as Director of Communication and Legal Reasoning at Northwestern University School of Law.

AUGUSTUS ROSE is the author of the debut novel The Readymade Thief as well as the screenplay Far From Cool, which was a finalist for the 2015 Academy Nicholl Fellowship. He lives in Chicago with his wife, the novelist Nami Mun, and their son. He teaches fiction writing at the University of Chicago.
