Field Trip in a Box

If you’ve ever visited the American Writers Museum, you know how much students love our collection of vintage, yet fully functional typewriters. Now, more students than ever can enjoy these pieces of Americana with our latest educational initiative, Field Trip in a Box! This unforgettable experience brings this beloved piece of the American Writers Museum directly to schools.

Field Trip in a Box includes a typewriter like the one used by influential American writers such as James Baldwin or Gwendolyn Brooks, along with materials about the authors and lessons inspired by them. When you book the typewriter, you’ll have it in your classroom for three weeks – plenty of time for other classes in your building to pay your room a visit!

The case will be delivered and picked up on an agreed upon date. More information will be sent to you once your booking is confirmed.
