Halloween Free Museum Day
Enjoy free admission to the American Writers Museum, featuring special Halloween-themed activities and crafts that are fun for the whole family! Free days include access to all of our exhibits, including our current special exhibit Level Up: Writers and Gamers. Plus, in conjunction with Level Up, AWM staff will lead a book discussion at 3:00 pm about Gabrielle Zevin’s Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, as part of Chicago Public Library’s One Book, One Chicago initiative.
Free admission to the American Writers Museum is available on the third Sunday of each month.

The Pumpkin Hunt
Explore the AWM in a whole new way with the Pumpkin Hunt! Search the Museum to find the missing pumpkins hidden in their favorite works of American writing. Find all the pumpkins and win a special prize!
Nevermore: The Poe Tour
Discover the man behind the myths, from talking ravens to tell-tale hearts. In this special tour of the AWM, you’ll dive into the work of Edgar Allan Poe and learn how his legacy continues to impact the world today. Nevermore: The Poe Tour is offered at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, and 2:00 pm. Tours begin at the front desk.
Little Squirrels Storytime
Bring the whole family for a special Halloween-themed storytime. Begins at 11:30 am.
Family Arts & Crafts
Enjoy various arts and crafts that are fun for the whole family! Available throughout the day.
