- Explore our special exhibit, Level Up: Writers & Gamers, on display now, which explores how Americans use role-playing games and video games to define and respond to our culture.
- Enjoy beer, wine, and the night’s specialty cocktail, The Wishlist, a refreshing summer cocktail. Non-alcoholic options available as well.

Restoried Bookshop is an Asian American, family owned bookseller located in Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood. Silent Book Club is a global community of readers and introverts, with more than 500 chapters in 50 countries around the world led by local volunteers. SBC members gather in public at bars, cafes, bookstores, libraries, and online to read together in quiet camaraderie. Stop by and learn about the chapters in the Chicagoland area!
SitStayRead is a non-profit organization that uses an engaging, evidence-based curriculum, skilled staff, trained volunteers, and Certified Reading Assistance Dogs to advance the literacy skills of kindergarten through third-grade students in the city of Chicago.
Read & Run Chicago is a chapter of Read & Run Tours, LLC, the country’s first and only organization that hosts running events inspired by books. Founded in 2021 by queer educator, freelance writer, and runner Allison Yates, the mission of Read & Run Tours, LLC and its city chapters is to use movement and stories to explore locations. Our community-focused run programming includes running tours, book club runs, author talks, and other literary-themed fun runs all inspired by books written by local authors, set in the cities where chapters are located. While connecting runners to the city’s stories, we also actively support literacy programs, public libraries, independent bookstores, and local authors.
Get Lit is your way to enjoy evenings in the Loop. Meet friends and fellow book nerds for an early evening treat. Each month, the AWM serves drinks, games, special experiences, and fun activities to get you lit! Funds raised at this event will go towards the AWM’s Write In Youth Education Program, which serves middle and high school students from under-resourced schools.
Buy your tickets today! A limited number of tickets are available at the door. AWM members, use the access code emailed to you to reveal the member ticket price. Tickets include admission to the museum and drink tickets for two complimentary beverages. Additional drink tickets are available for purchase. Guests must be 21+ to attend Get Lit and show a valid ID at the door.
