Melted in the Pot Tour: Celebrating Latinx Writers

The voices of Latinx writers have always been a part of the American literary landscape. Join American Writers Museum for Melted in the Pot and celebrate the incredible writing and achievements of Latinx writers, from the first Puerto Rican librarian in New York City to the first Latino to win a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Immerse yourself in the rich history, captivating stories, and profound contributions of Latinx writers, poets, and authors who have shaped American writing. This 15-minute tour introduces you to all areas of the Museum, and following the tour, you can explore all of the exhibits more in-depth.
This event is part of the 2025 One Book, One Chicago season, exploring the book Olga Dies Dreaming by Xochitl Gonzalez.
Melted in the Pot is offered at 11:30am and 1:30pm on the museum’s free days (September 21, October 19, and November 16. There is no additional cost to the tour and advanced registration is not required. Tours begin at the museum front desk.
