Get Lit: A Snowy Day
Welcome to GET LIT, a new monthly program series from the American Writers Museum! January in Chicago can be snowy and windy and cold. So warm up with beer, wine, and activities inspired by the classic children’s book The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.
As you sip your happy hour beverages, listen to live music from local jazz musicians Tim Fitzgerald and Tom Vaitsas, get snowy poems from Poems While You Wait and take fun pics with your pals in a snow-themed photo booth! You’ll have access to all of our permanent and temporary exhibits, including our newest special exhibit Dark Testament: A Century of Black Writers on Justice. The AWM’s gift shop will also be open to browse. GET TICKETS HERE.
Thank you to our in-kind sponsor of this first event, Revolution Brewing.
Get Lit is your new way to enjoy evenings in the Loop: Meet your friends and fellow book nerds for an early-evening treat. On the second Tuesday of every month, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, the AWM serves up drinks, music, special tours and fun activities to get you lit!
Get Lit events are $15 for AWM members and $25 for non-members. AWM members, use the access code that has been emailed to you to reveal the member ticket price. Tickets include admission to the museum and drink tickets for two complimentary beverages. Additional drink tickets are available for purchase. Guests must be 21+ to attend Get Lit. Funds raised at this event will go towards the AWM’s Write In Youth Education Program that serves middle and high school students from under-resourced schools.
