Explore the AWM and solve mysteries inspired by the likes of Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, Mystery Inc., and more.
Level Up Curator Tour — August 21 at 11:00 am; August 26 at 11:00 am
Explore our special exhibit, Level Up: Writers and Gamers, led by exhibit curator Ari Bachechi.
Harold Washington Library Tour — August 22 at 2:00 pm
Explore the iconic Harold Washington Library with a look at the history of the building and the services they offer.
The Lasting Legacy of Lorraine Hansberry — August 22 at 6:00 pm
Playwrights J. Nicole Brooks and Natalie Y. Moore discuss the legacy of Lorraine Hansberry with Ericka Ratcliff, Artistic Director of the Congo Square Theater. Presented in partnership with the Lorraine Hansberry Initiative to commemorate the new statue honoring Hansberry at Navy Pier. Members get free admission, and can either attend in person or watch online.
POE – Ardent Dance Co. — August 23 & 24 at 7:30 pm; August 25 at 3:00 pm
Immerse yourself for a night of storytelling, dance, and poetry in motion. The incredible cast of Ardent Dance Company retells the story from Edgar Allan Poe’s most popular works. AWM Members can get $5 off their tickets by using the code sent to you via email.
