National Senior Citizens Day

We’re celebrating seniors on National Senior Citizens Day! On Monday, August 21, the AWM will honor visitors aged 65 and over with free admission and a variety of fun activities. In Readers Hall, visitors can create their bookmark while listening to past author programs. Plus, you can learn more about the museum and how you can become a member.

AWM Trivia (11:00am, 2:00pm, 4:00pm)
Win awesome prizes during our trivia games! Great for all ages. Included with museum admission.

Museum Highlights Tour (every hour on the half-hour)
Looking for a good place to start your Museum visit? This 15-minute tour introduces you to all areas of the American Writers Museum, and following the tour, you can explore all of our exhibits more in-depth. Included with museum admission.

Volunteer Information Session (1:00pm)
Learn more about volunteering at the American Writers Museum during this orientation with AWM Floor Supervisor Cristina Carrera. At the end of the tour, you’ll have the chance to sign up to become a volunteer. Included with museum admission.

Advance registration is not required. Access to all AWM exhibits included with museum tickets, including our special exhibit Dark Testament: A Century of Black Writers on Justice.

      While the Museum is best experienced in-person, we do have some content available online through our virtual exhibits. This includes some temporary exhibits that are no longer on display and some of the content of our current temporary exhibit, Dark Testament: A Century of Black Writers on Justice. Our online exhibits are always free for everyone.
