The Horror and SciFi Prop Preservation Association (The HSPPA) is a not-for-profit traveling museum of screen-used and production-made props, costumes, and film relics that focus on the Horror & Science Fiction genres. The HSPPA champions the collection and preservation of some of the most incredible screen-used props in filmic history, bringing them out from behind closed doors for the fans to experience up close; promoting prop conservation so these artifacts can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Founded by James Azrael in 2015 in Chicagoland, The HSPPA has done well over 100 exhibits from Phoenix, AZ to Atlantic City, NJ; appeared on numerous news program segments including WGN-Chicago and Fox5- Las Vegas as well as Season 2 of Me-TV’s “Collector’s Call”; James has additionally released three books titled: “The HSPPA: Volumes 1 – 3”, detailing hundreds of props/wardrobes from the exhibits along with personal stories and anecdotes from the HSPPA Curators, Collectors, and even some of the actors and SP/MUFX artists from the films!

Our goal at Prism Games Chicago is to offer a bespoke shopping experience, and welcomg community space outside of work and home for folks to meet new people and enjoy the fast-growing hobby of tabletop games together! Whether you’re planning a relaxing evening alone, or a game night with friends and family, at Prism Games Chicago we will help you find the perfect game for your next night in!

Poems While You Wait is a simple and fun concept: we (published poets and professors / teachers) bring our vintage portable typewriters to a public place. Then, for a small suggested donation (all of which benefits the 501(c)3 literary nonprofit Rose Metal Press) we type out an original poem for our customers and readers. The topic of the poem is entirely up to the customer, and we have done events for children, adults, and families. The customers not only walk away with an artifact and souvenir of their experience but also with a possible gift and a memorable and unpretentious interaction with poetry.
