U.S. Winter Olympics Memoirs

U.S. Winter Olympics Memoirs

When athletes become writers! Stay in the Olympic spirit with these memoirs from past and present U.S. Winter Olympians.

While the 2026 Olympic Winter Games may have concluded after a few thrilling weeks in Milan-Cortina, Italy, your Olympic experience doesn’t have to stop too. We put together a list of inspiring memoirs by U.S. Winter Olympians that showcase the determination and motivation needed to become a world class athlete. Much like writing a novel, it takes hours of practice and bouncing back from failures to reach the podium.

These athletes, with the help of their professional co-writers, let us into their worlds and reveal an intimate, personal side of them. Whether they are racing down a snowy mountain or soaring 20 feet above the halfpipe or doing backflips on skates, these athletes remind us what it took for them to get there. And, importantly, they show us how to respond after losses, injuries, illnesses, and any other setbacks.

Many of these book recommendations are also available on Bookshop.org, which benefits independent bookstores. We also strongly encourage you to support your local bookstore by visiting them in person or ordering online through them directly.
