The Polar Express

As families around the world hang stockings and bake cookies for Santa, an exceptional train has already begun its worldwide trek to bring Christmas joy to a very special group of children. AWM Destinations is proud to announce a new partnership with the jolliest locomotive in the world: The Polar Express. Unlike other destinations highlighted, the Polar Express is an invitation-only opportunity for the young at heart.

Asleep in your bed, you’ll be awoken by the sounds of hissing steam and squeaking metal. Grab your winter coat and your favorite slippers and venture out to discover the Polar Express. As the conductor waves you over, you’ll pass through an apron of steam surrounding the train from the classic American 2-8-4 Berkshire-type steam locomotive. After receiving your ticket to ride, you’ll board one of the many passenger cars and meet your fellow passengers: children from all across the world. Sing Christmas carols as you dine on nougat candies and the thickest and richest hot chocolate you’ve ever tasted.

Once the train has picked-up all her passengers, you’ll begin heading north. You’ll pass towns and villages and through cold, dark forests on your way to the North Pole. Keep a close eye out for some of the local wildlife including wolves, white-tailed rabbits, and herds of caribou. Sitting comfortably in your heated train car, you’ll climb mountains so high it feels like you could scrape the moon. Finally, you’ll cross a barren desert of ice better known as the Great Polar Ice Caps as lights appear in the distance. These lights, as you’re sure to find out, are the homes and workshops of the North Pole.

After disembarking the train, you’ll head to the center of the city where you’ll meet the elves, the reindeer, and the big man himself, Santa Claus. If you’re lucky, you may even be selected to receive the first gift of Christmas, an honor for any true believer in the holiday magic. Watch as Santa’s bag is lowered onto his sleigh and the reindeers take off to begin their delivery journey.

As the whistle of the train sounds, you’ll reboard for a journey back to your home to enjoy the holidays with those you love most knowing the spirit of Christmas may be always inside you, as long as you believe.
