AWM Story of the Week

Every week, the AWM is excited to bring you stories written by our visitors in our Story of the Day exhibit. Check back weekly for new stories, and visit the Museum to try out our typewriters and possibly be featured here!

This week, we’re featuring some of our younger visitors’ works. We love how popular the typewriters are, particularly with field trips!

One of our favorite recent stories (which don’t have to be only words)! Hi! 👋

Sorry it took us a while to post this Ethan, but hopefully you see it now and have continued to like writing.

Today I visited the American Writers Museum. I am trying out for the student writers blogging event so that I can do what I like. So I am writing a short piece to try and qualify for this today.

June 14, 2018 from Ethan Johnson

Ethan’s classmate Daija chose to write a poem

like birds in the wind
like lava in a volcano
i rise to the highest point
of my life to see my goals
then when i get there i come to a surprise
the wind blows as nature follows
it sweeps me away all the way to my home
just as i get there my family awaits
the hugs were warm and i was finally home.
