Every week, the AWM is excited to bring you stories written by our visitors in our Story of the Day exhibit. Check back weekly for new stories, and visit the Museum to try out our typewriters and possibly be featured here!
Thank YOU! We’re glad you enjoyed the typewriters.
Don’t see the story of the day, but do see this typewriter. And remembering my first typewriter very fondly. Got me through college. I write differently now. Older and wiser? Or I know I can paste, copy and with a tap – make letters and words disappear.
Thank you, AWM, for allowing my fingertips the privilege of feeling the letters again.
Writers always have friends in their own stories and the stories of others…
Voices at night they
talk to me
I am their friend
just as they are mine
I am never lonely
for I have stories
given to me by pioneers
from other worlds
