AWM Story of the Week

Every week, the AWM is excited to bring you stories written by our visitors in our Story of the Day exhibit, which features typewriters that visitors can interact with directly. Check back weekly for new stories, and visit the Museum to try out our typewriters and possibly be featured here! This week, we found a great story a young visitor wrote about her dog!

The Day He Came by: Leah Miranda

On the morning of Thursday April 18, 2019, two days before my birth date, my parents told me we were going to get a surprise birthday gift – my present for this year. As we approached a house far from where I have ever been, we saw little puppies in the house and I automatically knew that today was the day we were finally getting a puppy! We chose a German shepherd male puppy! After we got all the information we needed, we brought him to the car and headed for home. We were so excited on the drive home with our new puppy. As soon as we got home he sniffed everything!! As the night settled, we all got ready for bed. We named our new puppy Sarge. The first night was rough but he soon got to know when bedtime was and where to sleep. He got bigger and is still a bit of a biter! I love him so, my little fur baby Sarge!

This drawing seemed like a great illustration of the above story, so we thought we’d include it today!
